Types of IQ Tests Administered by Dr. Duffy:   WPPSI-IV, WISC-V and Stanford Binet

Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence:      (under 6 years old):

The Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV) is individually administered by Dr. Duffy. The WPPSI-IV provides scores that represent functioning in four specific cognitive domains: Verbal Comprehension, Visual Spatial, Fluid Reasoning and Working Memory. The WPPSI-IV also provides an overall Full Scale IQ score that measures general intellectual ability. The WPPSI-IV typically takes between 45 minutes to 1-1/2 hours to complete.



​​Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-5th Edition:
(6 years old and older):

The Wechlser Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV and WISC-V) are individually administered by Dr. Duffy. The WISC-V assesses cognitive ability of children aged 6 years to 16 years old. The WISC-V provides scores that represent intellectual functioning in five specific cognitive domains: Verbal Comprehension, Visual-Spatial, Fluid Reasoning, Working Memory and Processing Speed. The WISC-V also provides an overall Full Scale IQ score measuring general intellectual ability. The WISC-V typically takes 1 to 1-1/2 hours to administer.


Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales-5th Edition:     ​(ages 2-85+):

The SB5 is individually administered by Dr. Duffy to assess intelligence and cognitive abilities in individual’s age 2 to 85+ years old. The test takes about 1-1/2 hours to administer.  The SB5 provides an overall Full Scale IQ score with evaluation of both verbal and nonverbal reasoning abilities. Additionally, results include performance on five factors of cognitive ability, including Fluid Reasoning, Knowledge, Quantitative Reasoning, Visual Spatial Processing and Working Memory.

Gifted / Talent Development Assessment

Dr. Duffy provides testing for academically gifted placement and talent development programs, 

including the following local programs:     (click for links to requirements page for each)


The assessment (conducted in person by Dr. Duffy) includes assessment of intellectual ability and academic achievement in reading and math. A written report with a summary of scores will be provided typically within one week of the evaluation date. An optional feedback session on a subsequent day can be scheduled for an additional fee to discuss the full results and implications for your child's learning.
